Push Back Racking

  • Existing Selective Rack and Drive-In Rack can often be retrofitted to support Push-Back lanes
  • No special forklifts required
  • Storage density of Drive-In Rack with the individual level selectivity of one pallet rack face for each product
  • Accommodates a variety of pallet sizes and types – with full frame Trolley Carts
  • Faster retrieval time – lift trucks don’t have to travel down Drive-In tunnels or secondary aisles
  • Lift truck drivers never enter rack
  • Only the front pallet and rack frames are exposed to lift truck impact, but can be recessed for safer forklift movement
  • Low Maintenance – all wheels have sealed bearings for long life
  • Ideal for Automatic Retrieval Systems or incorporating into Pick Towers or Rack supported buildings

Push back racking systems work to combine high density storage with the same versatility as drive-in racking systems. This is achieved by allowing each lane to flow independently and by operating on the last in, first out principle. This type of pallet racking system is ideal for both commercial and industrial applications, as it allows for multiple pallets to be stored on a gravity-fed cart system in which pallets are retrieved from the face of the rack.

Some of the applications and industries that push back racking is perfect for include:

  • Warehouse applications
  • Shops
  • Factories
  • Truck terminals
  • Automotive industry
  • Electronic industry

All push back pallet racking systems are custom designed to allow for the storage of two to six pallets deep and are only restricted in height by the lift truck’s reach. While push back racking is most often used against a wall or in back-to-back rows, a warehouse’s existing selective pallet racking can often be retrofitted to support push back lanes. This type of pallet racking is specifically designed to accommodate a variety of different pallet sizes and types, while still allowing for faster product retrieval time without the use of any special forklift equipment.

Push back pallet racking systems are extremely low maintenance, featuring wheels that have sealed bearings for a long lifespan, and provide a higher level of safety in the workplace as lift truck drivers never have to enter the racking. While the front pallet and rack frames are often exposed to lift truck impact, they can be recessed to provide an extra level of safety for forklift movement. All push back pallet racking systems are ideal for automatic retrieval systems, incorporating into pick towers, or incorporating into rack supported buildings.
